The Secret to Being Grateful
67Grateful Thinking
One of the easiest ways to receive positive rewards in life is to get in touch with the real feelings of being grateful. When you are grateful for the things and people in your life, you will be rewarded with even more positive energy.
The positive energy that enters your life will replace the negative feelings that hold us back.
Each morning and evening if you spend even a small amount of time on verbalizing or writing out the things for which you are grateful, it will increase your awareness of the positive that enters your life. Writing down the items in your life that you truly feel grateful for having will open the floodgates for even more rewards.
The universe connects with the words and thoughts that you emit. These thoughts can bring in the negative or the positive. With this in mind it will improve your life to focus your energy on the positive. If you believe that negative things will happen, they usually do. Knowing this, it is just as important to replace the negative thoughts with the positive thoughts about what you want from this life. This list can be all of the goals that you have. Make the list something that you can visualize in your life. Make the list come to life so that it can become a truth in your own life.
There are many studies that show that when you think something your body will respond to that thought. If each morning instead of worrying about the negative things, you spend the same time being positive about what you want in your life, it will be given to you.
More and more people are realizing this as truth and their lives are being changed. Books have been written on this subject and there is now a movie called "The Secret" This ninety minute movie shows how the great thinkers of the past have known about this secret. They call it the "Law of Attraction". There is a website that has more information on this topic.
Oprah and others have been talking about being grateful for several years. The concept is not new, it is just not discussed regularly. Bringing out the negatives and replacing them with the positive feelings and thoughts can actually make a positive difference in your life.
Morning Routine
Why not give it a try by starting the morning with a grateful time when you first wake up. Be grateful for the morning and go from there.
The best way to make this change is to start a morning routine. Start the morning out by listing the things that you have to be grateful about and remember that you can be grateful for the little things as well as the big things. Just the process of being grateful will make immediate changes in how you face the day.
It only takes about twenty one days to get a habit established, so in twenty one days the morning routine of being grateful will be a new and positive part of your life.
If you have experienced the change being grateful has had on your life, feel free to share it. I for one would be grateful to read your story.

Hi, Vicki...GREAT advice from a great writer. Wonderful hub. Enjoyed it so much. Thanks. I am now a fan and follower. Voted up, useful, awesome, interesting and beautiful. Sincerely, Kenneth Avery, from a rural town in northwest Alabama, Hamilton, that resembles Mayberry, where Andy and Barney lived. And I love your state, Kentucky!
Thoughtful hub on gratitude Vicki. Have you ever read any of the Abraham books, as they are very much about being appreciative and joyful. We all seem to find it so easy to be negative, so any moves to feel grateful for what we have are going to make us happier
Great message and one that should be considered seriously by all...the attitude of gratitude....LOVE IT!
Awesome message Vicki, this is so true about "reality" being "altered" by our thoughts. It can be very hard to focus on the good things and the positive but if we do, the good things come. Thank you for sharing this!
Voted UP!

Your hub is so true -- we get what we send out and if we are constantly thinking negative thoughts, we get negative action. When I find myself feeling worried about my financial affairs, I will stop myself and think about all that I DO have, knowing that others have less than I and that puts things in perspective for me.
Thanks for this hub - I voted it up and useful.
