Preparing for New York Fashion Week
One of the best parts of summer is the fashion. Right now we are wearing the looks that were shown last fall on catwalks all over the world. The collections were shown to the media members for their fashion week coverage, and to the buyers that were fortunate enough to find a spot during the last 2009/2010 fashion week catwalk shows.
The city of New York starts to buzz as it gets closer to the scheduled date. Networks like The Lifetime Channel television show Project Runway typically starts their new season in July so that the weekly show can eliminate designers and be ready with the final three in time for the grand finale during fashion week in New York City.
For one solid week the best of the best American designers will be hitting the streets of New York City along with their models and their new fashion collections for the Spring and Summer season. Bringing with them their most creative original ideas for the fortunate ticket holders to view as they parade down the catwalk. While fashion buyers scurry to place order so that the best of the collections will be in stores next spring.
The four days of Fashion Week will be a whirlwind of activity for the American designers that have been able to secure a very desirable spot for their fashion collections to be seen. Employing the perfect models, make up artists and hairdressers in order to bring their final look together into a cohesive catwalk show will take courage as well as amazing management skills.
The timing of the shows is precise and everything has to be ready at the time allotted for their walk. So while we enjoy the summer fashions that we see the following season we can know that the designers are working on their upcoming spring and summer look for the next year which will be shown during the next New York Fashion Week.
Who can we expect to see at the New York Fashion week shows? The American names we know so well will be present with their new line of spring and summer seasonal clothing. We can always expect to see Michael Kors and Diane von Furstenburg, Calvin Klein's line will be represented as will Oscar De La Renta and the popular designer Betsey Johnson. There will be old favorites and newer lesser known names that will prove themselves to the media that will gather. Who knows we might see the line that becomes the break out new designer, perhaps it will be Seth Aaron Henderson or another seasonal winner of Project Runway.
The catwalk shows will be exciting and dramatic and will leave us wanting more. So as the designers prepare their collections we patiently wait for the beginning of fashion week.
