First AdSense Payment

This is my own personal journey on the path to my first Google AdSense payment. I admit that when I first started writing on Hubpages, I wasn't sure how quickly people earned from their Google AdSense accounts. For me the first one hundred dollars took a little over one year.

When I first stared at HubPages, I also was writing at another site which was paying a regular income for the work produced, so if course I was more motivated to write for the other site. That other site stopped paying their writers and kept the adsense funds for themselves. With my income gone, I was able to come back to HubPages and write pages that I enjoyed creating and feel very secure that I will be paid directly from Adsense.

In July, I started writing exclusively on HubPages and I love it here.

When I first started writing here I would check the earnings often. I have gone through the period of daily and hourly checking my earnings page to see if anyone had found my hub. It was my hope that someone would take time to read my hub and had maybe even had found an ad worth clicking.

Some days I would cheer the penny that had been earned on one of the pages I had written. One day, I remember being happily surprised to see that there was a dollar for the day showing on my overview page. That day was special, because it was the first time I had earned more than a few cents with clicks. I became enthused and knew I had made the correct decision to put a little more time into the writing of hubs.

In reading about the journey of other hub writers I have learned that many have made a thirty hubs in thirty day commitment to themselves. I have not committed to the one hub a day for thirty days, but I write when I am able. I certainly can see the argument that writing more hubs allows for more chance for Adsence income.

My own style of hub writing is based on writing about what I know. Since I am a game player I tend to write about the games that I enjoy. I also write about my puppies and my family. In the past I have worked in a financial institution, with this information I also, on occasion write hubs that concern banking issues.

I can not suggest a certain type of hub that will bring in more adsense income than another. I have not figured out that part.

For me the writing has been the best part of my HubPages experience. The first check is a wonderful point of this adventure. I will continue to write hubs on a variety of topics. At some point it may become more clear that one subject brings in more readers and clicks than another. I understand there is a mathematical formula somewhere hidden in Google that determines how the clicks are tallied and how the clicks earn money. That is about as advanced as I am able to get on the mathematical side of this subject.

Today the thing I know is this: With the fifty two hubs I have written I have finally and happily reached the bar of over one hundred dollars in confirmed AdSense revenue.

Today I am watching my Online bank account waiting for the Google funds to pop into sight and celebrating this milestone in my writing adventure. Tomorrow I will write and perhaps the topic will pull in readers and I will watch it grow and eventually, I will enjoy more days like this.
