Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook

Bejeweled Blitz on Facebook is a very popular game that pulls you in with bright colored jewels that explode and fall in a most addictive fashion. The game has pleasant sound effects that keep you excited about the moves you are making.

To play the game you simply match three of the same color jewels and cause them to explode which awards points and bonuses. The bonuses can keep your score rising between plays. The game of Bejeweled Blitz is a timed game and lasts only one minute. The pace is fast but you will be given rewards for your scores once the game has concluded. At the end of each game your score is tallied and then a marker is placed stating which level you played. Opening up more of the achievements for your collection becomes addictive in itself.

Bejeweled Blitz is the version of Bejeweled that is played on Facebook. Popcap games has now released this same version for play on the PC alone. The PC version was released in April of 2010, for installation on the home computer so that the player is free to play without connecting to Facebook Social Network.

Awards and Achievements are only half of the fun when playing Bejeweled. Pitting yourself against other players will allow the leader-board to reflect which of your Facebook friends are scoring as many points as you or scoring more points. This allows you to compete on a head to head level with your friends.

Boost have been brought out as of April 2010 and these are bonuses that can be chosen at the beginning of game play.  If you choose to use your boosts.  Many players choose not to use them as it makes the high score elevated. 

Many players are happy to use the boosts as it allows them to gain the achievements at a faster rate.  These are just options that PopCap has offered to the players.

The actual game play is simple and addictive. The board fills with many different color jewels and in the one minute playing time you will click and slide the jewels into alignments so that they form a set of three. Once the three jewels are lined up they will disappear from the playing board and you will earn the point value of that play. If you are able to line up more than three jewels you will be given bonus points as well as special jewels which will help you in removing more jewels from the board. When these bonus jewels drop they will take out all of the matching jewels that they are associated with.

There have been boosts added to the game and these boosts can be purchased with the coins that you receive from playing.

The boosts will allow the scrambling of the jewels, adding additional time at the end of the game, bonus special jewels at the start of the game as well as the chance to detonate all the bonus jewels at one time. Each of the boosts can be purchased and will continue to consume the coins until the boosts are manually stopped.

These new boosts will allow you to make more points and this should help you move up the leader board.
