Backyard Monsters
80Backyard Monsters is a fun and popular game on Facebook that allows you to build a civilization of monsters one creature at a time. You will collect resources and build your village. There are dangers in the game and you will need to protect your village from wild monsters.
One of the most important steps will be the building of the monster army. This will allow you to defend your own backyard as well as attack other people's backyards.
You will be given one worker to get your building started. To get things going , you will need to have the following resources:Twigs, Pebbles, Putty, Goo and Shiny. These will be gathered by building some resource gathering buildings.
To get you on the right track you will start building the Town Hall. To construct a building you will click on the building tab next to Quests, Store and Map Tabs. When you press the building tab you will be able to see which of the buildings are now available to build, and the cost to build them. since we are starting with the Town Hall once this is complete, it will make other buildings available to you. This will also provide upgrades that you can choose.
Once the building is complete then you will again click on Quests because you will have completed your first quest and are due for a reward. When you have received your reward you are able to construct a resource gatherer. This will allow you to maintain the resources that you will need to build and grow your village.
Each time you have built what the trainer suggests you will be checking in at the quests tab to see what rewards are in store for you. Then you will be able to build the general store. This will give you a place to spend your shiny.
The General Store is where you can purchase more workers and better tools. These better tools and hard hats will give you a building bonus.

Defending Your Yard
Defending your yard can be done with Towers and booby traps. Choose a tower from the building / Defense tab and start to build.
While your buildings and defensive weapons build you can bank your resources so that the gatherers do not get full and stop production.
The attacks may cause your buildings to take some damage and if they do, then you will need to repair them. This might take a bit of time.
Once you have gotten started you will be given a 14 day grace period that keeps you from being attacked. This allows you time to get your buildings going and your defenses up. When you are building and have all of your resource gathers in place, you will need to upgrade the Town Hall to unlock more options. Close attention is needed during this first two week period so that you are prepared for players to attack on the fifteenth day.

Hatching and Creating Monsters
This is the time to create more of your army and more workers. Once you put in the hatchery you are able to develop your monsters. Choosing who you want to create you start the builds in the monster lockers.
Continue building up your arsenal and your army because in two short weeks you will be doing battle with other players.
Having towers and traps will help you as long as you have enough. Keep them close to your village so that they are protected. The battles will take place while you are online as well as when you are offline.

Champions
After you have played a while, other options will become available to you. Increasing your defense buildings will keep your interior buildings safer. Since the invaders are going after your harvested items, keep them surrounded by your defense. As you progress more monsters will become available and finally you will have access to the Champions. These monsters are stronger and combined with a healer and damage monsters, they will take down a yard in no time.
Once you have reached the goal of having a Champion, remember to check in on him daily to provide a boost. These champions are amazing. Gorgo, Drull and Formor are available and they can be switched out if you have the juicer. This is one reason it pays to invest in the Monster Juicer, that is what allows you to swap out one champion for another.
Using the Zafreeti healer is an excellent choice when sending in your champion. The Wormzer burrows down and surprises your enemy. Another sound choice when building up your offense. Never forget about the Teratorn, this one can attack from the air. Sailing in over walls while the land monsters are busy with the walls.
A successful Defense
Success
The Tesla and the Laser Towers behind the wall, continue to be the most effective means of keeping an enemy from entering your yard.
Having a successful defense can provide you a safe yard. Testing each type of defensive weapons will allow you to make the most of their unique defensive traits and keep the yard from being over run. If an attack causes damage, your yard will begin repairing immediately so that you will continue to be safe if another attack occurs.
Good luck with your village of monsters and remember to build and protect. It is a great strategy game, and to be honest it is just a bit addicting.
